The word “Mustang” is a Tibetan word, which means “Plain of Aspiration.” Muktinath temple of Mustang is one of the sacred places for Hindu and Buddhists too. Muktinath is a Vishnu temple, sacred to both  Hindus and Buddhists. It is located in Muktinath Valley at Thorong La mountain pass in Mustang, Nepal. It is one of the world's highest temples (altitude 3,800 m) and is one of the Char Dham in Nepal. 

Marpha the name itself reflects the "mar" meaning hard-working and "pha" meaning people. The village is the apple capital in the nation, with Marpha brandy and jams produced from local fruits. The village is a common overnight halt on the Annapurna Circuit. 

Mustang tour starts from Kathmandu on a jeep drive to Pokhara and then to the Lo-Mangthang. Covering around 555km from Kathmandu to Mustang, it is a pleasant yet adventurous drive.
